Maharashtra Board Class 10, Class 12 exams postponed—Check what minister said about CBSE, ICSE, IB and Cambridge boards

Maharashtra Board HSC, SSC Exam 2021 postponed: In the wake of spiraling Covid 19 cases, Uddhav Thackeray led Maharashtra government on Monday decided to postpone the Maharashtra SSC, HSC Board Exams 2021. The exams were scheduled to be held in this month itself, however, now Maharashtra Board Class 10, class 12 exams 2021 will be conducted in May and June. Maharashtra Class 10 board exams will start from June, while Maharashtra class 12 board exams will be conducted in May.

"Given the current #COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra, we've postponed state board exams for class 10th & 12th. The present circumstances are not conducive for holding exams. Your health is our priority," tweeted Maharashtra school education minister Varsha Gaikwad.

"Keeping in mind the schedule of entrance exams for professional courses, class 12th exams will be held by end of May, while 10th standard exams will be in June. We're closely monitoring the health situation. Fresh dates for these exams will be announced accordingly," she further said.

Varsha Gaikwad also said she be also writing to the CBSE, ICSE, IB, Cambridge boards, requesting them to reconsider their exams dates.

The decision was taken in a meeting between Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad after consultations with various stakeholders-students, teachers, parents, elected representatives from across parties, academicians & tech giants.
